Ruby red with garnet reflections
Dried flowers, fruit in spirit, spicy, licorice
Soft, delicate tannins, satisfying, persistent
16-18 °C
The Notes of the Sommelier:
The wine is limpid, intense ruby red with garnet reflections. A dried-flowers potpourri, marasca
cherries in spirit and candied orange peel immediately come out of the glass; followed by spices,
underwood hints, and a final touch of licorice, and cocoa. The mouthfeel is full, satisfying, with a
smooth tannic texture and a long dry finish.
Food and wine pairings:
Perfect for complementing aged cheeses, or a juicy Florentine steak; it will delight the most
demanding palates when paired with a classic “coda alla vaccinara” – roman oxtail stew - or with a
Sicilian caponata topped with dark chocolate flakes.
